Best way to cleanse gems to prepare gem elixirs

Cleaning gemstones for elixirs

Most gems can be cleansed in sea salt, although the addition of powdered quartz would be even better.

Use two parts sea salt to each part of quartz powder. Powdered quartz is readily obtainable in many laboratory supply houses. Distilled water should be used because spring or city water usually contains small amounts of minerals that could weaken a gem elixir. The entire mineral should be covered with this solution, and only one mineral should be cleansed at a time. When using this technique, be extremely careful to remove all the salt and quartz powder from the mineral before the gem elixir is prepared.

Is there a way to cleanse powdered quartz crystals for reuse?

The quartz powder, which is larger than the sea salt, can be sifted and separated from the sea salt.
Then place the quartz powder in distilled water and put it under a pyramid for at least three minutes. Many may wish to throw out and replace used quartz powder. It can easily be purchased in many industrial shops.
Natural, as opposed to fused, quartz powder is best to purchase. When done with this procedure, be extremely careful to remove all the quartz and sea salt, which tend to stick to the mineral. The mineral must be cleansed in pure running water, preferably distilled, to remove the quartz and sea salt.

What about placing the mineral under the sun for cleansing and amplification of the mineral’s properties?

This is a universally valid and powerful technique.

Is it wise to cleanse minerals in wine?

This is another valid cleansing method, but it is more a convenience than a superior technique. Another superior technique is to cleanse a mineral in its own crushed powder. To  illustrate, you could cleanse topaz in crushed topaz. This technique can be universally applied, although it would be rather expensive with certain minerals. A synthetically prepared  crushed mineral could be used, but then you must also add sea salt to the solution. Minerals can also be cleansed in the earth, especially in mud or sand. American Indians have traditionally done this.

Does it matter what type of sand a gem is placed in? For instance, should sand be used that comes from where the gem is obtained?

The source of sand is not critical however, there is some enhancement in using sand exposed to salt water.

Whichever technique is used, the gem should be put in storage for at least two hours. Then the mineral should be placed under a pyramid for thirty minutes to two hours. And the gem must be carefully cleansed before it is made into an elixir. Whenever gems or gem elixirs are stored under a crystal pyramid, it always helps to add ruby because it is a universal amplifier for all gemstones. This is because of the intimate association of ruby with the heart and the key balancing role the heart plays in people.

Why is sea salt so universally valuable as a cleansing agent?

Sea salt is a crystalline structure that also has the ability to draw energy to itself. Salt is one of the weaker crystalline structures, but its ability to expand and contract or restructure based on moisture allows it to draw to itself other energies. Its very instability is an advantage. The instability of toxic substances makes it easier for salt to pull such toxicity to itself. Salt is more stable than any toxicity.

Should soft minerals on the Mohs’ hardness scale be cleansed more often or in a different fashion?

Soft minerals can be cleansed with the techniques suggested above, but they should sometimes be cleansed once a month. Generally it is wise to cleanse stored gems once every two months, although this is not essential. The storage facilities and local environmental conditions should also be considered.”

Should very hard minerals be cleansed in any special way?

It is best to cleanse hard minerals such as diamond, emerald, jasper, pearl, quartz, ruby, and sapphire as well as the varieties of these minerals such as rose quartz in pure quartz crystal powder. If that is too expensive, cleanse these gems in distilled water and quartz powder. The more quartz powder that is used, the more potent is the cleansing. It is best to cleanse these gems once a month.

Should gems worn on the body be cleansed differently?

“The cleansing techniques offered above can also be applied to gems worn on the body. Such gems should usually be cleansed every two months; however, individuals involved in deep meditation or mantric practices might want to cleanse such gems more often.

There is a belief that certain gems already used in healing and spiritual work should not be exchanged with another person to be used in similar work. Is this true?

As long as such exchanged gems were properly cleansed, this would rarely be an issue. Occasionally this could be a problem with softer gems that are more susceptible to thought forms.

When using these different techniques, it is essential that the individual be in a calm and clear state.

Always place each gemstone in a new glass bow] with distilled water, sea salt, and quartz powder before and after the gem is prepared as a gem elixir. The full surface of the mineral is covered with this solution, which is then placed under a copper pyramid for at least several hours.

This process takes time, but it is an enjoyable experience.
